Without any outside investors, Legacy has grown into a nationwide healthcare technology integration and services firm with clients throughout the country. Founded in 1996, Legacy began as an employee-recruiting firm that specialized in finding professionals with programming and integration skills to implement and configure managed-care information systems. Legacy leveraged its unique ability to find "the right person for the job," and the company transformed in 1998 to exclusively focus on providing consulting and integration services for managed-care organizations. Unlike other consulting firms that grow by hiring or acquiring other consultants, Legacy has grown its staff by finding and hiring professionals who have worked within managed-care organizations. As a result, Legacy’s staff has hands-on experience with the business climate of these organizations, as well as first-hand knowledge with the computer systems that drive these organizations. This approach has provided Legacy with a significant competitive advantage and has enabled the company to grow organically, without outside investors.
